BRADLEY, William John

It is with great sadness that the family of William John Bradley announces his passing on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the age of 90 after a brief illness.

Better known to friends as Bill, he was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and was a British Army veteran.  He immigrated to Canada in 1968 with his young family and lived and worked in Montreal before moving to Ottawa in 1990.   He will be affectionately remembered for his humour, his helpful nature, and particularly the twinkle in his eyes.

His loving wife Betty predeceased him in 1999.  He is survived by his children Margaret (Ed), William (Sriyani) and Stephen, and grandchildren Gillian (Adam) and David and great grandchildren Leah, Eli and Hannah.  His surviving brother Richard and other family members in Western Canada will also fondly remember “Willy”.

A prayer service will be held on Saturday, August 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Isidore Roman Catholic Parish, 1135 March Road, Kanata, ON, followed by interment in the family plot at the Parish cemetery.  A reception following the service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Kanata Branch, 70 Hines Road in Kanata.

The family would like to thank the Queensway Carleton Hospital, particularly the wonderful staff in section C3.

Those who so desire may make donations in memory of Bill to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch-638 Kanata, 70 Hines Road, Kanata, ON K2K 2M5.
