LEROUX, Yvon

1965 - 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Yvon Leroux on November 9, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his son Yanik Leroux, and his father Hervé Leroux (late Françoise Ouelette Leroux). He was much loved and brought lots of joy to his siblings; Michel (Marianne), Anne, François (Marthe), Carole (Jacques), and Jacynte (Scot). Lovingly remembered by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends, dance partners and colleagues.

Yvon had a great love for life and left this world too early. He was passionate about cooking, loved the dance floor and provided incredible hospitality to so many.

A private memorial service will be held to honor him on November 23, 2018. Those wishing to make a conrtibution in his memory, may do so at the Prostate Cancer Canada at http://www.prostatecancer.ca.

We have truly lost someone special who will never be forgotten.

In accordance with his wishes, a large life celebration will be held in spring/summer 2019.

Leroux Family

Leroux Family and friends, on behalf of Commvault, where Yvon was employed, our deepest sympathies and condolences. I was part of Yvon's interview process a few years ago and we worked together over the past two years. He will be greatly missed. God bless everyone.

Below is the email I sent internally to the entire Canadian organization early last week...

Team Canada,

With heartfelt remorse, Yvon Leroux passed away on Friday following his battle with cancer. Yvon was an ISE for a number of years at Commvault based in Ottawa and recently moved into the PSD organization. I remember interviewing Yvon a number of years ago and will always remember his passion for the business and never settling for mediocrity. He always wanted to learn and grow both personally and professionally. Yvon was a health fanatic, always knowing the latest trends in health, nutrition, cooking and fitness. My last note from Yvon was on September 24th when he started his first chemotherapy treatment.

Commvault will be providing flowers for the service which are currently being organized by his family.

Live on everyone and let us never forget Yvon nor the fragility of life.

Regards,
Darren Yablonski

Yvon was a shinning example of our company's values of passion, commitment to excellence and treating people with respect and dignity. He was highly respected not only for his outstanding contributions to Commvault but for who he was as an individual. He left us way too soon and will be deeply missed by his Commvault family.

We send our heartfelt condolences on your loss.

The Family of Yvon Leroux

It was my pleasure to work with Yvon in our Service Provider team for the last three years. I was sad to hear of his passing. My work with Yvon was primarily done remotely, but we did have a few opportunities over the years to spend time with one another. I found Yvon to be one of the most genuine people I've met. He spoke often of his son and of his love for cooking.

I frequently prepare bacon for my family and collect the bacon grease, straining through cheesecloth as Yvon recommended to me. I haven't smoked my own bacon yet, but that's next on the list.

Yvon was quick to smile, and always available to lend a hand. He will be missed here at Commvault, and especially among those of us on the Service Provider team.

The Yvon Leroux Family

While there truly are never words that fit at such a trying time, I found a poem in my mother's effects that has often brought me comfort.

"I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs
like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
"There she goes!"
Gone where?
Gone from my sight . . . that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
"There she goes!”
there are other eyes watching her coming . . .
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout . . .
" Here she comes!"
Author: Henry Van Dyke"

I hope this brings you some comfort . God bless you and yours.

It is with great sadnesss that I learn of Yvon's passing. It's so hard to understand why people are taken from us, but I find comfort in knowing he was a special part of my life. A great man, I will miss him dearly.

Please know how very sorry I am. Memories are the legacy of love. God bless his beautiful soul.

Sincerely,

Jeanne
