CAMPBELL, Colin Ian

1967 - 2023

Campbell, Colin Ian
4 August 1967 - 6 March, 2023

It is with great sadness that Colin’s family announces his sudden and unexpected death at his rural home near Winchester, Ontario in his 56th year. He is predeceased by his sister Laura and survived by his son Sean, sister Miriam and parents Percy and Jean Campbell. Colin became an electrician from studies at Algonquin College and then a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He worked on the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa and most recently on the new House of Commons in the West Block on Parliament Hill as well as the Casino in Niagara Falls, the Ottawa International Airport and the Ottawa General Hospital. He also had a certificate in forestry technology from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Lindsay, Ontario and a diploma in HVAC technology from Algonquin College, Ottawa. He had a life long love of pets and in his younger days delighted to visit his cousins and other relatives in Saskatchewan, which he did with his mother and siblings nearly every summer. Among his many sports were hockey, fishing and golfing.

A memorial service will be held in First Baptist Church, Ottawa on Monday 24 April,2023. At 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice, such as the Ottawa Mission, would be appreciated.

I feel so sad, I wish I could say or do the perfect thing but it is impossible to make the pain go away. Know you are all being thought of and we love you. You took us on to your home when we needed a place when mom ( Aunty Jean's sister) needed a place to stay when she needed surgery. I am so lucky to have a kind and loving family. You are being prayed for!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time! We will always cherish the memories we have of Colin. We had so much fun growing up together. I will always remember our childhood summers the most!

Hi

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Colin as a little boy on Southmore Dr. I used to look after Laura, Miriam & Colin occasionally.
Your are in my thoughts at this difficult time.

We are very saddened by the too early death of our rural neighbour Colin.

He was the ideal neighbour.

Colin was delightfully calm to converse with. He was always so considerate and respectful in his interactions with other people.

With his love of the natural environment and passion for wildlife and his pets we always felt good after talking with Colin.

His death has impacted us greatly.

We so miss the comforting thought of him living quietly close by with our shared interests.

We wish his family well in their adjustment to life without Colin.
