1964-2021

Décédée le 23 décembre 2021, à l'âge de 57 ans, à l'Hôpital général d'Ottawa. Jo a grandi à Aylmer et a fréquenté l'école secondaire régionale Philemon Wright et le cégep Heritage. Elle a épousé son amour de collège et a consacré sa vie à élever ses enfants, d'abord à Aylmer, puis à Luskville au Québec et depuis 17 ans à Hopetown en Ontario. Elle a survécu à son père Herb Gervais et a été prédécédée par sa mère Joan Gervais (née Mallon). Épouse de Steven Ayer. Sœur de LJ (Kyle) Kotary et Andrew Gervais. Mère de Seth (Karen) Ayer, Simon Ayer, Emmy Ayer, Hannah Ayer, Noah (Rebekah) Ayer, Molly (Jon) Redman, Levi Ayer, Bronwyn Ayer, Hope Ayer, Ellianna Ayer. Grand-mère chérie de James, Mark, Hope et Timothy Ayer et Samuel Redman.

What a lovely person. I met Joanna Lynn working together one day nearly 40 years ago and thought gee she's very pretty and funny and everything, and then I met Steven. Haha. Lucky guy. True story and I love you both forever.

Apologies if I sounded like an idiot last time I wrote. I was genuinely concerned about being offensive when discussing God, out of respect for your religion, as my life had recently been saved by God as I understood god to be. But I think I failed to convey that properly.

God is all there is and God brought you into my life and I think about Steven and Joanna Lynn with love and fondness. To stumble upon this obituary today in my attempts to convey the above was unexpected. Still all I think about is the love Joanna Lynn showed to me as a friend and as a roommate and how much it matters even now all this time later. I can only imagine the love she shared with you and your family in all that time since. I am blessed by both your friendship.
