Note that inaddition to our formal business, we are pleased to present a guest speaker on a topic of interest to all members“The Value of Pre-Arrangements”.

What resolutions will I be asked to vote on?

This year the Board of Directors is asking members to vote on a resolution that was passed at the 2019 AGM regarding FCO’s membership fees. The resolution addressed a discrepancy between our Bylaws and our Articles of Incorporation. As the official government deadline for formally filing the amendment expired before we were able to complete the documentation, you are being asked to vote on this resolution again.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Elections for vacancies on the FCO Board of Directors will take place during the 10th Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

The Board aspires to include within its ranks a diversity of persons including those who can bring demonstrated networking skills to the Board table.  We are seeking to increase the number of Francophones and women on the Board.

This year’s election will fill five Board positions. We are pleased to confirm that three directors whose terms will end on June 29 have agreed to stand for re-election. We are actively encouraging members to nominate potential candidates to present a full slate for all Board positions.

Members wishing to be candidates for a Board position must submit a brief biographical note to the FCO office (e-mail: info@fco-cfo.coop) by midnight Monday June 7, 2021 marked “Attention: THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE.” Nominations received after this date can not be accepted.

Please note: To become a Board Director, a person must be 18 years of age or older and a member of the Funeral Co-operative of Ottawa. Any member may nominate themselves or any other member to stand for election. Anyone who is an undischarged bankrupt or mentally incompetent person is not eligible to become a director of FCO.

We look forward to welcoming you online at the 10th Annual General Meeting.
