Peacefully at Ottawa General Hospital on Friday, August 18, 2023. Barrie MacRae, age 82 years, beloved father of Jeffery and Shannon (Ravi Ramkissoonsingh). Dear friend of Antonio DeSousa. Dear brother of Marvin (Gerda) and the late Murray. Uncle of Chris (Sandra Doraty) and Julie (Serge Sabourin). Cousin of Ella (Paul Noel) and Marie Traynor. Friends may call at the Funeral Cooperative of Ottawa, 419 St. Laurent Blvd. on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 2 - 4 pm. Prayers will be shared at 3 pm. Special thanks to Philip, Charlotte, Marcel and Carlos and the staff of 5 East at the Ottawa General Hospital. Donations to the Ottawa Hospital - General Campus would be appreciated.

Barrie was one of a kind, one of my favourite people in the world, and I know all my family felt the same way about him. He always had the best stories and never short of an opinion on the news and politics of the day. I always enjoyed his dry, sarcastic sense of humour. I will miss him very much.
