MAGILL, Carol

1955 - 2022

After a long and courageous battle
with cancer, our strong and
beautiful mother, wife,
grandmother, great-grandmother,
aunt and friend passed away
peacefully on January 9th at the
Ottawa General Hospital at the age
of 66. She leaves behind her loving
husband Derek; her son Michael
and his children with Sonya,
Joshua, Nathan and Noah; her
daughter Jennifer and her children
with Ken, Liam, Grace, Audrey and
Jack; her daughter Melanie and her
child with Jason, Seth and daughter
Rebecca; and her son William and
his child with Madison, Wrenley.
Carol also leaves behind three
great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lilah
and Julianna. She is predeceased
by her loving parents Lorne Lewis
and Audrey Lewis (nee MacKinnon)
of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She is
survived by the father of her three
eldest children, Michel Kingsbury.
She will be lovingly missed by many
more loved ones and treasured
friends.
Carol lived her life as a strong,
loving and compassionate woman
who put the needs of others before
her own. Her family was her pride
and joy. Alongside raising her
family, Carol was a dedicated
professional in the health care field
who recently retired from The Royal
Ottawa Hospital where she touched
the hearts of many in the geriatric
unit. She was an individual who
made a lasting imprint in the lives of
those she befriended.
Our family would like to extend our
gratitude to the hematology and
palliative care teams at the Ottawa
General Hospital as well as to the
many doctors, nurses and PSWs
who all supported and cared for
Carol and her family over the past
15 months.
In lieu of flowers, please consider
making a donation in Carol’s honour
to the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society of Canada.
A Celebration of Life will be
announced and held at a later date.

Family

I had the pleasure to work with Carol. She was always professional, dedicated, very eager to help and a team player. She spokes frequently about her family and obviously you were the centre of her life.
My sincere condolences.
