WOODEN, Dale

1955 - 2021

Albert Dale Wooden

November 14th 1955 – November 13th 2021

After battling Cancer, Dale passed quietly with family at Montfort Hospital, Ottawa.

Born in Moncton New Brunswick to Albert and Lois Wooden, graduating from Saint John Vocational High School, he went on to join the Canadian Armed Forces, and attended Le College Militaire Royal De Saint-Jean in Sciences and Engineering, and retired from military life at the rank of Master Corporal. He would then go on to found Logic Connections Consulting, work with Newbridge-Alcatel-Lucent, Commissionaires of Ottawa, was employed with WithYouWithMe Services Ottawa, was a certified engineering technician in Ontario, and would both teach and attend at Algonquin College of Ottawa.

He was an active Mason, Worshipful Brother and Past Master of Hazeldean Lodge #517, who also spent many years as a Scout Master, and was an avid Motorcyclist. Dale also enjoyed Lego, calligraphy and spent many hours with his hands inside computers.

Dale is survived by his loving Wife Janice Wooden, Daughter Nicole Wooden, Son Jonathan Wooden and daughter in-law Genevieve Jobin. Also mourning his passing will be his Parents Albert & Lois Wooden, and siblings Glenn Wooden, Tim Wooden, Andrea Hall, Beth Ganong, Norman Wooden and their respective spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service in Ottawa will be held at the Funeral Cooperative of Ottawa, 419 St. Laurent Blvd. on Saturday the 20th of November between 1 - 3 pm EST with a brief Masonic Service at 2:30 pm. Masks, social distancing and vaccine passports will be required. In lieu of flowers donations to the Ottawa Food Bank, Hazeldean Lodge #517 or your charity of choice would be appreciated. A memorial service will also be held in the future in Saint John New Brunswick.

As we struggle with the loss of our patriarch, pillar and role model, we cannot help but be reminded of his compassion, organization, drive, sentimentality, dedication and ceaseless need to learn. He will be sorely missed by those he has left behind, and will never be forgotten. The world would be a brighter place if his example of kindness, charity and honesty were followed more freely.

We miss you, Dad.
