Jill’ family

My deepest sympathies go out to all of Jill's family.
Jill was such a kind soul to all. She welcomed me with open arms when I was transferred to teach at St. Margaret Mary in 1998. After she retired, she did a contract with the board assisting students with special computer programming. She was often at my last school, St. Theresa. She always sought me out in my classroom and we had great laughs together. She was so proud of her children and certainly loved the outdoors and her dogs. She will be missed by everyone that she assisted and loved unconditionally in her humble manner.

Jill’s family

My deepest sympathy is extended to Jill’s family. I was her principal at Divine Infant School where I enjoyed working with her as she passionately taught her students with humor and grace. Jill was a valuable staff member who never let any of us take ourselves too seriously. Her strong work ethic and honest approach to problem solving made her a sought after colleague. Her kind nature and integrity made her a wonderful friend. She will be sadly missed by her friends at the OCSB. Rest In Peace Jill, you have touched many on your journey with us!

The family of Jill Lamont

On behalf of the staff and volunteers of the Ottawa Food Bank, please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of Jill.

Jill was a “ salt of the earth person” who was always willing to roll up her sleeves and volunteer in support of our cause.  She volunteered as a food sorter, every week, sometimes multiple shifts, for many, many years.  She never missed a shift,  even all through the pandemic, up until her last shift on September 2nd when she was forced to step away after her diagnosis.

Jill was always one of the first people to offer additional volunteer help at our special events like our Food Sort Challenge, grocery store food drives and the call centre for CBC Project Give.  Additionally, she assisted at our onsite holiday donations centres and helped with seasonal mailouts.

She will be missed by our staff and fellow volunteers and friends at the Ottawa Food Bank. Jill was an amazing lady and truly one of #OttawasBestVolunteers!

With sincere sympathy,

Jo-Anne Turple, Volunteer Coordinator with the Ottawa Food Bank.

Family of Jill Lamont

This is simply horrible news. I didn't know Jill for that long but since I moved to Ottawa 6 years ago and joined St. Joseph's Parish, I have had the privledge of counting the collection with her and learning of her admirable qualities. We should all aspire to be as giving as she was without any fanfare at all! A truly wonderful, selfish woman will be so missed.

Family Of Jill Lamont

I was very fortunate to have worked with Jill in my earliest teaching years at St. Margaret Mary School. I learned so much from her! She was always looking for new ideas to add to her teaching repertoire. She had such a strong work ethic and she devoted countless hours to supporting her students and enriching school life by coaching teams and just doing about any job that needed to be done. She was truly a wonderful person.

Megan, Eric and Leslie

It is with deep sadness that I offer you my sincerest condolences. I was blessed to have had Jill as a dear friend, as well as, a colleague during our teaching years. Jill was an amazing woman. She had inner strength and courage. In her, I saw a woman who did not walk away. Her goal was always to find the best solution and to put it in action. She was always ready to lend a hand.
She was so proud of you, her children. Her love for you and her grandchildren filled her heart. She spoke of you often.
We always kept in touch. We talked on the phone, sent emails and she always took the time to visit me when she was travelling to see Eric, Lisa and Joshua. I will truly miss my friend Jill. I am so thankful to have had her in my life.
