MCNAUGHTON, Lorraine

1961 - 2020

MCNAUGHTON, Lorraine Sandra

Born in Montreal, on Dominion Day 1961, to Alfred and Stella Matichuk. After an emotional journey with cancer, Lorraine passed peacefully with family by her side at home in Ottawa. Always loved and never to be forgotten by her husband, Ralph and their children, Erica and Andrew. Cherished little sister of Diane (Doug) and Ronald (Christiane). Devoted Grandma to Amelia, Mateo and Lily. Sadly missed by her mother, Stella and her mother-in-law, Joyce. Predeceased in 1988 by her father, Alfred, and in 2020 by her father-in-law, Wesley. Loved by her nephews, Thomas and Michael (Matichuk) and nieces, Jessica, Kendra and Mikaela (Titley) and their parents, Jennifer and Kevin Titley.

Over 25 years, Lorraine brightened the lives of many children and families as a Childcare Provider in her home, a Nursery School Teacher, and a devoted Nanny. Special thanks to those who personalized the human side of cancer; Family Physician Dr. Emilie Daigneault, the Cancer Centre Oncology Team, Bayshore Home Health Nursing Team, Gloucester Centre Rexall Pharmacists, Dr. Regine Krechowicz and the wonderful Palliative Care Team.

I cannot express how I feel. I didn’t know about her health situation. My heart goes out to you, I really mean that with tears in my eyes. I did not know your wife but knew your kids and you for many years. I know how awesome you are so your better half is always better. Take time to heal, there is no limit on that. Praying for your family.

My most genuine and sincere condolences. My heart skipped a beat and feels hollow for you and the family. While I did not have the pleasure to meet Lorraine, I think her picture tells the story - she was a great match for your outgoing and fun loving nature.

I'm thinking positive thoughts and sending them your way.
