MCLACHLAN, Margaret

1930 - 2019

Margaret Louise McLachlan

Marg passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 19, 2019. The beloved wife and best friend of Bob for 69 years, she was mother of Jim (Lisa), Glenda, Michael (Ulrike), Leah (Bill) and Reid (Becky), half-sister of Marnie, grandma to Kailey, Mark, Brittany, Cooper, Nikolaus, Brandon, Mikaela, Jonathan, Kristina, Korina, and Talia, and great-grandma to Miles and Nate. Born and raised in Huntsville, her greatest life-project was the creation and nurturing of a very close, loving family. With boundless energy and creativity she could miraculously transform nothing into everything for her family. She possessed a deep love of nature that she shared generously, enriching the lives of many who knew her. An avid reader and art enthusiast, her lifelong curiosity for the new allowed her to bridge generations. Always attentive to others and known as one to reach out, she was the embodiment of a giver. She taught us all what love truly is and we are eternally grateful that she was ours. Paddle on into the breeze Marg.

A celebration of Marg’s life will be held on January 3 from 1:30 – 3:30 in the Chapel Room at All-Saints Event Space, 330 Laurier Avenue E. in Ottawa. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS).

My heart hurts for your loss. Every word I heard spoken of Margaret was positive and beautiful. She created a lovely family that continues to grow and share the love she taught. Sending my love and happy thoughts to all friends and family.
