HENDRY, Robert
Robert George Hendry was born to Jessie and Robert Hendry in Toronto on the 14th day of March, 1942. Thereafter he lived in various places before settling in Ottawa in 1958. In the years 1951 to 1955 he had studied at Waterloo Lutheran University and the University of Western Ontario obtaining his honour's degree in business administration from Western in 1955. In 1956 he married Merilyn DeMone of Nova Scotia and they had one child, his beloved daughter Krista Ann. Through the years Bob had a varied and challenging career and he loved his work as patent agent because it allowed him to utilize his clever mind and creative and artistic abilities. He last worked with Shapiro Cohen before enjoying semi-retirement as his own boss. He was still working at the time of his death. In addition to Krista, others who will miss him very much are Merilyn, former wife and forever friend, and dear friend Susan Brown. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Ozaruk and her husband Walter as well as a number of scattered nieces and nephews and friends from St. Gabriel's. Today, August 23rd, a family visitation will run from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Beechwood Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to Bob at the public visitation which will follow until 4:00 p.m.
