Life in the universe does not cease, it is eternal.
It is with great sadness that the Lalonde and St-Onge families wish to inform you of the death of Thérèse, who passed away on September 27, 2021, at the age of 76. Dear and sweet wife of Roger Lalonde, daughter of the late Lucien St-Onge and the late Jeanne Marleau, she is survived by her three children: Karl-André (Stéphanie Ferrand), Anik (Alain Roussy), Martin (Adele Casuga); ten grandchildren Chloé, Katrina, Louis, Tristan, Annabelle, Marie, Justine, Sandrine, Olivier and Henri; his sister Monique (late Jean-Jacques Séguin) and his brother Richard (Lise Taillon), his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Guillaume Senécal (late Nicole), Jacques Carrière (late Violaine), Nicole Bertrand St-Onge (late Laurent), Estelle Desnoyers (late Marcel), Lucille Frappier (Ernest), Omer Lalonde (Suzanne), Rollande Lalonde (late Normand), Luc Lalonde (Juna James) and Lisette Bourgon (Benoît) as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Nicole, Violaine and her brother Laurent. She also leaves a group of very good teacher friends with whom she had breakfast on Wednesday mornings since the beginning of her retirement in 1998.
After her studies at Plantagenet High School, Thérèse began her teaching career in 1963 in Embrun. From 1966 to 1998, she taught at Montfort School in Ottawa. In addition, she taught for the DND schools in Lahr, Germany from 1977 to 1980.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Given the current circumstances related to the pandemic, a church service will be held in privacy. A private interment will be held at the Curran Parish Cemetery at a later date.
Special thanks to Dr. Julie Souligny, Dr. Jennifer Brodeur, Dr. Gonzalo Alvarez and the many nurses at Carefor for their dedication and excellent care of Therese.
