NIXON, Arabella Helen, 1956 2014. Arabella Nixon died suddenly of natural causes on April 24, 2014 at the age of 57. Beloved daughter of Mrs. Helen H. Nixon and the late Capt. C.P. Nixon. Dear sister of Lucia F. Nixon, Charles B. Nixon and Anita Biguzs and a wonderful aunt to Elizabeth and Miranda Nixon. Arabella attended Elmwood School, Ottawa, and Trinity College, University of Toronto. She lived bravely with bipolar disorder throughout her adult life and devoted herself to expanding the understanding of mental illness and supporting others like herself. She touched many with her wit, caring and generosity, and will be deeply missed by family and friends including Patti, Linda and Mark. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to The Well, 154 Somerset Street West, Ottawa K2P 0H7, the-well.ca, or the Royal Ottawa Hospital Foundation for Mental Health, 145 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario K1Z 7K4, www.theroyal.ca/foundation/ will be gratefully acknowledged. A Celebration of her Life will be held at St Matthew's Anglican Church, 217 First Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 2 p.m., followed by a Reception in memory of Arabella.
