WONG, Janice Wai-Kwan (nee Chui) 1941-2015 Passed away peacefully on February 22nd, 2015 at the age of 73, following a series of strokes. Janice is remembered as an independent spirit, mother, grandmother, and active member of the Ottawa Chinese community. Having lost her siblings and parents at an early age, Janice immigrated to Canada in 1968 from Hong Kong via Taiwan, and shaped a full life in Ottawa, where she worked as a federal public servant for 30 years. Long known in the Ottawa Chinese community as an organizer, language teacher, and craftsperson, she will be missed for her hard work and devotion to the community. She will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Vincent (Jessica) and Sophia (Graeme), and three grandchildren, Kai, Jonah, and Veronica. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 1st, at the Hintonburg Community Centre, 1064 Wellington Street, starting at 3:00 PM, with a reception to follow.
