Dr. Leonardo Buffa Ph.d Eng.
We sadly announce the passing of Leonardo (Leo) Buffa on Monday December 16, 2019 after a short stay at the Civic Hospital. Leo was the much loved husband of Giuliana, having shared over 60 years together, father of Laura (Randy)and Alex (Eunsuk), and grandfather to Liam and Ethan, sister Mariangela (Antonello).
Leo was born and raised in Milan, Italy. He gained his Phd in Engineering in 1961 from the University of Milan and had a succesful career as a Chemical Engineer. He and Giuliana immigrated to Canada in 1966. Leo worked for the Federal Government as the Director of Energy Mines and Resources.
Leo and Giuliana shared many interests from travel, track and field, soccer, tennis, fishing and entertaining.
Leo has requested that there be no funeral but a celebration of life be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers but a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the invaluable organization. The family would like to send particular thanks to all at the Civic Hospital who supported them through this difficult period.
