Gilles Emile Leclair

Gilles Leclair passed away peacefully in Ottawa, Ontario, surrounded by his loved ones on May 21st, 2025 at the age of 76.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Beverley (nee Gibson), with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. Gilles found love and joy again with his loving life partner of 19 years Franziska Graf who survived him.

Gilles will be forever missed by his daughter Julie and grandson Aiden Menard, loving siblings, extended family, nieces and nephews as well as many cherished friends.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Gilles made hospitality his career. He will be dearly missed by staff and patrons of the establishments that he owned and those that he managed.

Gilles was a consummate gentleman who excelled personally and professionally by treating everyone with kindness and respect. He and Fran enjoyed travelling the world and as a foodie, he loved sampling the delicacies wherever he went and raising a glass with friends and family.

A celebration of Gilles life will be held on June 28th 2025 at 1300 hrs (1pm )pm at Patty’s Pub, 1186 Bank Street in Ottawa where we will raise a glass and share stories of an incredible life.

We wish to thank The Ottawa Hospital and the Cancer Treatment Centre for their care, kindness and support.

In lieu of flower, donations can be made in Gilles name to The Ottawa Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Food Bank.
