CLAVEAU, M. Raymond

Mr. Raymond Claveau passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023 in Gatineau, at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen Lawton, the mother of his children. He is survived by his wife, Sylvie Marcotte and his daughters: Charlotte, Lyne (André Bourdeau) and Marie-Josée (Nicholas Tremblay). He also leaves 8 grandchildren: Geneviève (Garth), Dominique (Isabelle), Julie (Steve), Antoine (Sara), Gabriel (Lindsey), Charles, Catherine (Steve), Anne-Marie (Stephen) and 5 great-granddaughters: Raphaëlle, Daphnée, Evelyn, Elyse, Céleste as well as many other relatives and friends.
Raymond loved life, he was always cheerful and very patient. He worked for Bell Canada for 40 years. He excelled at scrabble. He was an avid outdoorsman, canoeing, biking, hiking, golfing and his great passion, downhill skiing.

A mass will be held on Sunday, February 12 at 11:45 a.m. at Sainte-Geneviève Church, 825 Canterbury Avenue, Ottawa.

The family would like to thank the staff of the CHSLD La Pietà for the good care given to Raymond during his short stay in this establishment.

My sincere condolences! I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Claveau. He was our neighbor and friend for many years. He was a wonderful part of my family’s history on Goren Avenue and he will remain in my heart forever. Such a caring, kind and smart man who will be missed by many. I have so many fond memories of my youth that are attributed to this lovely man and his great family over the decades. I will cherish them all the more.
