NOEL, Floris
Born in Grenada October 4th, 1927, Floris grew up in Trinidad and emigrated to Canada in 1975.
Dearly beloved loving, proud mother of Lee, ultra-devoted grandmother of Jordan, aunt of Margaret, Edison, Wintley and Desiree. Loved by extended family - Agatha, Susan, Larry, Sherry, Elsie, Anastasia and Ingrid and others.
She died peacefully in the grateful loving arms of Pierrette, her former daughter-in-law, a tremendous comfort - on the morning of April 17th, 2018. We miss her profoundly! Much gratitude for the support of partners Sylvie (Lee’s), and Amanda (Jordan’s) throughout this passing and grief.
As a loving professional caregiver to several children and their families and numerous ailing adults and their families, she lived and worked in the heart of love, kindness, forgiveness and professional diligence. Even when it was not in her best interest and when she needed to be cared for, she gave care and solace to, shared warmth and kind regard with family and friends. She also had a ready smile and generous greetings for strangers. Truly, above her work, accomplishments and multiple talents her greatest legacy is her unconditional love for her fellow humans.
She was cared for professionally with much love, warmth and dignity during the last nine (9) years of her life by the amazing staff of Carlingview Manor, where she found new friends and community/family. Abundant gratitude to the Personal Support workers, nurses, physician, recreologists, dietitians and others who cared for her through her declining years, and by extension cared for her family as well!
She walked this earth quietly, lovingly, in humble pride and faith, doing her part to make it a better place.
A brief, public visitation will be held Monday, April 23rd in the morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Funeral Co-operative of Ottawa, 419 St. Laurent Blvd, in Ottawa, with a private burial to follow.
