Aunt Jackie was the coolest..I had the privilege of being invited to stay with her and uncle Bill when I went to college...I declined and stayed I peteborough and went my way...that didn't matter...she was always praising and telling I was doing great . There was one time I was stuck in Ottawa...for undisclosed reasons...lol...and her and uncle Bill let me stay at there house to rest and fed us. Something I will never forget...xoxoxoxoxoxoxk

Family, relatives and friends of the clan Lothian

I knew your Mom from our growing up days in the Federal on Wishman Street where there were two families of MacDougall girls. Jackie's Mom outlived them all, I believe dying at the age of 99.
Jackie came to my mind while downhill skiing since I had intended to phone her about the Cape Bretoners and Slabtown in the Federal. I had boarded with the Lothians on Foss Road and Slab Town extended from Agnes (Nan) and Bill Lothians house down to what is now Burnside Crescent. It was called Slabtown since people couldn't afford siding and used slabs from the sawmill instead.
The older people from Cape Breton still had the Gaelic and there were wakes in the homes. Everyone had a nickname and a few sayings not meant for polite company but funny as could be. Sure regret not being able to talk to Jackie one last time. She and Bill raised a fine family.
