Pre-arrangement contract

A pre-arranged funeral service contract is entered into during a person's lifetime. Its purpose is to provide services at the time of death in exchange for partial or full payment to be made before death. It can be cancelled at any time at the buyer's discretion, subject to a 10% penalty (up to a maximum of $350) as provided for in the Pre-Arranged Funeral Services and Burial Act.

This is a contract that stipulates your funeral arrangement choices, at the current cost. This prevents your loved ones from making emotional decisions and spares them numerous formalities and procedures that can often be painful during a difficult time. For your peace of mind, as required by law, your capital is deposited with an authorized trustee, and the Cooperative's books are audited annually.
